It is our mission to motivate the GFG community by rewarding them with prizes to increase their charitable involvement.
The GFG movement is focused on generating awareness of social issues and inspiring others to get involved with charitable causes. We aim to offer hope to the less fortunate through a welcoming community that is rewarded for creating a lasting impact on the lives of others. With an emphasis on the greater good for all, GFG will continue to strive to make donating more rewarding and exciting.
Our Story
The concept of Gift from George started with a single thought, "Can I really make a difference in the world?" and a realization of "yes I can!" We look to the story about the Little Boy and the Starfish to find our inspiration. In this story a boy has come across many starfish that have washed up onto the beach because of a storm. He is throwing one after another into the sea when a man approaches him and asks what he is up to. The boy responds that he is trying save the starfish. The man asks the boy what difference does he honestly think he can make when considering all of the starfish that must be washed up across the world. After reflecting on the man's question for a few seconds, the boy tosses the starfish into the ocean and responds, "for that one, I made a difference!" At GFG, we want everyone to feel empowered and come to the realization that they can make a difference.
Why George Washington?
At GFG, we want everyone to feel empowered and come to the realization that they can make a difference. That's why we chose George Washington to be our symbol. George is one of our histories strongest examples leadership, integrity, and dedication. In addition, he reflects the smallest U.S. paper denomination, the $1 bill. The dollar bill may not seem like much, but when you magnify it over a large community that is united for a common purpose, it's impact can be tremendous.

Whether you are a charity looking to raise additional funds, a donor in search of a streamline way to give or someone who enjoys winning prizes, it can all be found in our community. Our site is a no brainer and here are some of the reasons why:
For our gamers, we offer you a chance to win prizes with significantly better odds than anywhere else. In addition, for every entry into a game, you will receive one vote that enpowers you to support a charity! While you can pay to play, the best part is that there is no purchase necessary! You can receive a vote by mailing into us requesting a vote, or by completing one of our surveys (coming soon). Whether you pay for a vote, write to us or complete a survey, everyone has an equal shot of winning! Even if you don't win, you can feel great knowing you are truly helping to support great cause all while having fun in the process. It is our hope that our gamers will slowly gain exposure to our charities and what makes them so great.
For our donors, we want you to feel that with every $1 you contribute, you are making a difference. The way we achieve this is by enabling you to enter your favorite charity into a game by helping them reach $1,000 in total donations. Imagine for a minute that you come to our site and find out that your preferred charity has collected $999. You know they need to raise $1,000 to enter into a game where they will win at the very least, $100 or even better, more than $2,000. Wouldn't that you make you feel great knowing that for just $1, you could dramatically impact the additional money they receive? Furthermore, we can be the one place where you go to make all your charitable contributions to all of your favorite charities. You will no longer need to visit multiple sites to make your donationts. Lastly, we will itemize all of your contributions to make your year-end record keeping a breeze.
For our charities, we can be your primary method to receive donations or we can help complement your existing channels of fundraising. We understand that you work hard for the funds you receive and we have decided to make a pledge to not charge you a fee for using our site (less basic fees and standard merchant processing fees). All donations collected through GFG are tracked in order to help you raise more money and to determine your support on the GFG platform. Once you reach a certain threshold in donations, we will enter you into a game where you will compete against two other charities for additional funds. The funds you are eligible to win are directly proportional to the number of votes you earn from our community. The more votes you receive the higher your winnings.
